A massive 25% drop was observed in terms of USD traded between Q1 and Q2 2022 with a global volume of about US$8 billion in Q2 2022.

A net profit of US$460M is recorded over Q2 2022, a significant decrease compared to Q1 2022 (US$2.3B).

Secondary market remains predominant with almost 80% of the volume of USD traded, in the meantime, primary market has constantly decreased over the period.

A 46% decrease in profit at resell is observed during the period, for a total loss that increased by 23% (US$1.8 billion profit for US$1.4 billion loss).

The market is more centralized than ever: More than 30% of the volume of USD traded over the quarter is distributed between projects that have been launched or acquired by Yuga Labs.

The general public seems to be losing interest in NFTs, if the search volume on Google is to be believed.

<p>Depending on the number of Walker Access Passes held in the wallet, the time for mint will be different. Those wallets that hold 5 or more Walker Access Passes at the time of the snapshot will get <strong>24 hours</strong> to mint their Avatar NFTs. A pass will allow you to interact with an Avatar (so 5 passes, 5 avatars). These holders will also benefit from a discount of 0.02 ETH over the $80.00 public price.</p>



<p>For owners of 4 Walker Access or less, the mint opening window will be 6 hours and will also have a discount of 0.02 ETH for mint. Finally, during the last two hours of the allow list, Walker Access holders will be able to interact with as many NFTs as they wish.</p>

The world was introduced to Walkers on Halloween night 11 years ago this year via AMC’s the Walking Dead.  Since February 2022, ‘Walkers’ have inhabited Web3, wreaking havoc and terrifying everyone in their quest for consumption and destruction. 

The Walking Dead NFT Universe Expands With New 3D Character Avatars


<p><a href="https://nonfungible.com/market-tracker/forgottenrunes" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Forgotten Runes Wizard’s Cult</a> (FRWC) launched on June 30, 2021. Less than thirty minutes after launch all 10,000 pixel art Wizards sold out. Less than a year after launch FRWC has summoned attention from beyond its home realm of non-fungible tokens and expanded into traditional media. And at the time of publication FRWC ranks 41st among collectibles available on Ethereum according to our data. What is this phenomenon that has mobilized so many would-be wizards?</p>



<h2>Storytelling, Intellectual Property, and Traditional Media</h2>



<p>Some of the Wizard NFTs feature a pet in addition to the character. Some contain extra visual features like a scythe, and others manage to hold their own heads. All of them call back to 1980s video game art and roleplaying games. FRWC also looks to the future the community can create thanks to the project’s storytelling affordances. These features combine to form what Magic Machine, the project creators, call a ‘legendarium.’ What makes the legendarium different from other projects?&nbsp;</p>



<h3><strong>A Hybrid IP Model</strong></h3>



<p>Magic Machine offer the holder of a Wizard NFT all commercial rights to that NFT. This<a href="https://thedefiant.io/bored-apes-yacht-club-cryptopunks-copyright-fight/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> hybrid intellectual property model</a> allows community members to receive some of the profits from the forthcoming<a href="https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/john-wick-derek-kolstad-forgotten-runes-wizards-cult-series-1235257501/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> comic book, MMORPG, and television releases</a>. The IP model also occupies a middle ground between Creative Commons (CC0) projects where no-one holds any rights and projects where creators alone possess intellectual property rights.</p>



<h3><strong>Web3 Fanfiction: The Runiverse</strong></h3>



<p>From the perspective of community and storytelling, Wizard owners have more at stake because they can add value to their Wizards by creating a backstory that’s verifiably theirs, yet within the overall narrative originated by the folks at Magic Machine. Each backstory created is a collaboration with the creators. This dynamic ‘Runiverse’ differs from Web2 fan fiction because authors have greater access to recognition and compensation for their efforts: the blockchain stores an author’s contribution for all to see.</p>



<h2>What&#8217;s next for Forgotten Runes Wizards’ Cult?</h2>



<p>In addition to the project&#8217;s rapid expansion beyond NFTs, Magic Machine has activated Forgotten Runes Warriors in the runiverse. </p>



<ul><li>Comic Book: According to <a href="https://www.forgottenrunes.com/posts/roadmap">Forgotten Runes Wizards’ Cult roadmap 2.0</a>, the first comic book will be issued in July of 2022. It will cover the larger meta narrative of the project, explain the magic system, and introduce characters.</li><li>MMORPG: <a href="https://www.forgottenrunes.com/posts/forgotten-runiverse-press-release">Magic Machine has partnered with Bisonic Inc</a> for a create-to-earn MMO. The game will be completely on-chain while drawing upon the expertise of folks from Maximum Games. Players will be able to battle, socialize, mint items, and quest.</li><li>TV Show: <a href="https://www.forgottenrunes.com/posts/titmouse" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Magic Machine has partnered with Titmouse</a>, creators of <em>Venture Brothers</em> and <em>Big Mouth</em>, for an anticipated hour-long show series. <p><strong>Robot Taekwon V PFP is a Klaytn-based 24×24 3D animation art using the intellectual property (IP) of Robot Taekwon V</strong>. NFTs will be minted in the same way like domestic and foreign projects and the only difference for this project is using the IP of Robot Taekwon V. In addition<strong>, this PFP NFT is unique in a way that it is made with the pure creative content which was made in Korea without imitating or dramatizing characters from overseas.</strong>&nbsp;</p>



<p>The Robot Taekwon V PFP will offer 5 NTFs, featuring 1976 Original, 1982 Super Taekwon V, 1984 84 Taekwon V, 1990 90 Taekwon V, and 2015 Master Taekwon V, and will issue 10,000 NFTs all with different characteristics and attributes. <h2>What is Robot Taekwon V?</h2>

<p>Robot Taekwon V, which is the legend in the Korean animation industry, is Korea&#8217;s first robot animation directed by Kim Chung-gi in 1976. After the first movie released, several sequels were produced in 1976, 1982, 1984, and 1990, and gained popularity.&nbsp;</p>



<p>For people born in the 1970s and 1980s, in particular, the Taekwon V was a hero of childhood memories. Robot Taekwon V was almost forgotten from the public in the flood of animation films, and faced the risk of disappearing as the first edition was known to have been lost forever. However, the original film was miraculously discovered and there were many opportunities to remake the movie but failed.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Although the plan to come back again was canceled, there has been good news recently that the Robot Taekwon V, a precious memory and legacy, will be permanently preserved as a non-fungible token (NFT). The hero of the childhood like Superman, and the icon of the era will be born again.</p>



<h2>The Robot Taekwon V Genesis Drop</h2>

<p><strong>The Genesis Drop on the Robot Taekwon V PFP will be released on March 15</strong>, a week before the official launching. This is an introductory version of limited edition of Taekwon V NFT which were made with 3D work. The Genesis Drop will be a 6-day event, with one character released each day, and all proceeds made during this period will be donated.</p>



<p>Five pieces of Genesis will be donated to victims of wildfires in Uljin and Samchuk in South Korea, and the 6<sup>th </sup>special edition of Genesis will go to organizations related to Ukraine that are suffering from the war. Minting NFTs will be auctioned on OpenSea, the world&#8217;s largest NFT marketplace.</p>

<p>Chateau Angelus has produced first-rate Bordeaux wine for over a hundred years and this century; they&#8217;ve expanded into NFTs. As with Nike’s shoes and Hublot’s watches, buying <a href="https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20210712005180/en/Cult-Wines-Releases-NFT-of-Original-Digital-Artwork-Bordeaux-En-Primeur-Together-With-Chateau-Ang%C3%A9lus" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">an Angelus NFT</a> entitles the owner to some of the brand’s products. In the case of Angelus, purchase includes a barrel of wine plus a virtual tasting with Angelus’ CEO and co-owner. Cult Wines, the organization Angelus collaborated with for this offering, will store the wine until it’s ready to drink.</p>

<p>Robert Mondavi Winery has collaborated with high-end porcelain manufacturer Bernardaud to create their own <a href="https://nft.robertmondaviwinery.com/pages/nft" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">distinct package</a>. Every package includes: an NFT of generative art that authenticates a Bernardaud-made porcelain magnum of the Mondavi brand’s 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon from its To Kalon (Greek for ‘the beautiful’) vineyard. For thos unfamiliar, a magnum is a wine bottle two-times the size of a standard 750 ml bottle. This NFT offering from late-2021 is limited to 1,966 bottles which references the year Robert Mondavi Winery was founded.</p>



<p>Five years into its existence, <a href="https://yaofamilywines.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Yao Family Wines</a> led the Non-Fungible Token charge into fine spirits. The winery’s 2016 Chop (Chinese for ‘seal’) included another seal in the form of an NFT. That collectible NFT’s design features the number 11. This represents the year of the wine’s release as well as the jersey number <a href="https://www.nba.com/stats/player/2397/career" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Yao Ming</a> wore during his eight-year career in the National Basketball Association. Yes, it’s that Yao Ming!</p>

One Grape Fam NFT of the vintage corresponds to ownership of a 6-bottle case, enough to fuel a Karen for an entire weekend.</p>



<p>Unlike the above projects <a href="https://bitwine.org/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">BitWine</a> is simply digital art backed by… nothing. The pixel art draws upon the same elaborate classification schemes applied in the real wine world minus the bottles and alcohol content. BitWine loops back to NFTs roots in digital art and relies on wine’s history as much as its creators’ bona fides for success. The BitWine team includes an accredited sommelier, Lauren Vaile, and well-recognized pixel artist, Stephen Osborne.</p>

<p>Welcome to our series about NFTs and elements of traditional life, and what could be more traditional than Golf? Saying the word brings to mind exclusivity: country clubs where membership can cost tens of thousands of dollars annually, expensive equipment and attire that can be as pricey as it is garish. </p>



<p>Nonetheless, egalitarian NFTs have already made their way into all areas of the sport. From golf courses and country clubs to major players and equipment, they’re part of the 500 year old sport.</p>



<h2><strong>PGA Tour and the Sport’s Biggest Names</strong></h2>

<p><a href="https://golf.com/news/pga-tour-nfts-coming-soon/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) will soon offer NFTs</a> from its archive and members who choose to participate. Given the PGA’s Tour’s 2 million viewers, their substantial archive and roster of over 200 players, it’s easy to see how there’s money to be made. Tiger Woods has been one of the Tour’s biggest names for years. </p>



<p>Via Autograph, the company founded with Tom Brady, Woods has<a href="https://www.golfdigest.com/story/tiger-woods-nft-collection-tom-brady-autograph-golf-pga-tour-highlights" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> released over 10,000 NFTs</a>. Prices for this offering ranged from $100 to $1500, which allows plenty of access for fans of different socioeconomic statuses. Other professional golfers have sold NFTs as well.</p>



<p>In fact,<a href="https://golf.com/news/bryson-dechambeau-nft-trading-cards-crypto/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Bryson DeChambeau</a> became the first professional golfer to offer NFTs in the Spring of 2021. Perhaps efforts like those of Woods and DeChambeau will guide the PGA Tour’s approach to NFT releases. We can also look beyond long-established names and organizations to see how NFT projects have influenced the sport.</p>



<h2><strong>Crypto Country Clubs and a DAO Golf Course</strong></h2>

<p>Malbon, a golf equipment brand, <a href="https://www.golfdigest.com/story/malbon-golf-buckets-club-nft-digital-country-club-ethereum-cryptocurrency-blockchain-investment" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">offered pop culture infused NFTs</a> that permitted access to a&nbsp; country club in the metaverse called Buckets Club. Buyers of their 1,000 NFTs also gained access to the real-world events and other perks in addition to the club membership.&nbsp;</p>



<p>The Buckets Club mirrors Malbon’s general brand approach: Malbon is a community, an ecosystem. We suspect this is a core reason why their first release immediately sold out: authenticity matters.</p>



<p>Before we get into the DAO Golf Course, what is a DAO? The acronym stands for a Decentralized Autonomous Organization. Unlike the centrally controlled PGA discussed above, a DAO’s hierarchy is flat and runs on the blockchain. DAO members share common interests in the metaverse that can include real-world artifacts. In the case of <a href="https://linksdao.io/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">LinksDAO</a>, its members wish to<a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2022/01/05/linksdao-raised-millions-selling-nfts-to-buy-a-golf-course.html" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> “democratize the country club membership.”</a> And many other folx share their vision.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Within 48 hours, the 9000-plus NFTs they offered brought in $10.4 million. The two membership tiers available cost about $700 and $2700 respectively. If these prices seem steep, compare them to the Medalist Village Golf Club Tiger Woods belongs to. Annual membership there runs $100,000.</p>



<h2><strong>Conclusion</strong></h2>



<p>Golf will likely remain a staple of traditional life for the well-heeled and would-be wealthy. For those of us outside the sculpturesque country club gate, NFTs hold promise to equalize access at the level of the golf course, community, and memorabilia.&nbsp;</p>



<p>This is in keeping with the underlying design of NFTs, in particular their distributed nature. Will the establishment push back? Or will it, against the odds, push forward and embrace the inclusivity NFTs facilitate as much as the revenue?&nbsp;</p>



<p><strong>We like to think money will pave the way for further innovation.</strong></p>

Welcome to our series about NFTs and elements of traditional life, and what could be more traditional than Golf? Saying the word brings to mind exclusivity: country clubs where membership can cost tens of thousands of dollars annually, expensive equipment and attire that can be as pricey as it is garish. <p>Today, the young company has decided to innovate by embarking on a new adventure: creating a collection of NFT watches that will be available to use in the metaverse!</p>



<h2>The DWISS NFT Watches</h2>

<p>This community is the one that will help grow the fashion industry in the metaverse, and help create the first watch NFT. With a limited number of 10,000 copies, this drop will reserve several surprises and benefits for holders.</p>



<p>First, the holders will have the ability to claim the equivalent of $500,000 worth of products in the real world. Owning one of the NFT DWISS with a &#8220;diamond&#8221; characteristic will actually allow access to 200 physical watches (average price of $2,000). <h2>What is the DWISS Roadmap?</h2>

<p>The second phase will have several elements: The promotion of the project to the outside, the activation of the presale for whitelisted users, the date of the public mint (0.1 $ETH) as well as the finition of the smart contract and the giveaway of 100 watches with the average retail value of $1,000 USD to the winners of the giveaways.</p>



<p>Once the mint date is determined, phase three can begin! First it will be opened for the whitelisted, after that the public sales. The time will come to reveal phase 4! This will also be the time for 200 holders to receive 200 watches with the evarage retail value of $2,000 USD.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.partyhorses.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Party Horses</a> is a collection of 10,000 horse avatars in festive colors coming soon! Horse lovers and fans of the Kentucky Derby rejoice, and get ready to own your own NFT horse!&nbsp;</p>



<p>Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, the horse racing capital of the world, the Party Horses team came together around very simple goals: “Use Web3 for good, have fun, create beauty, destabilize the disappointing, and collaborate with others to build amazing things.”</p>

<p>The drop will contain several surprises for its users. Its first digital event, March 1, 2022,will allow the first 2000 early adopters to mint a special “Pregame” NFT. This NFT will enable you to obtain a bottle of special edition bourbon from Maker&#8217;s Mark (provided if you are 21 years old) as well as Whitelist access to the public mint.</p>

<h2>A predecessor to celebrity NFTs from 1997?</h2>



<p>Often, long before most of us try out something — an exercise regimen, food or an art form —&nbsp; a celebrity or influencer seems to have arrived there first. You might reasonably think that celebrity and influencer NFTs of recent years are a new attempt by well-known individuals to capitalize on their digital identities.&nbsp;</p>



<p>However, in true David Bowie style, the legendary stardust cowboy arrived there first in 1997. That year, Bowie offered securities backed by the royalties that his sizable catalogue of music would pay out over the course of a decade. Investors possessed a share in the future royalties, not the intellectual property itself.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Much the same is true of NFTs. If I buy some aspect of an artist’s work, identity, or other intellectual property, I only possess a representation of that property, not the property itself.&nbsp;</p>



<h2>Flawed human beings and NFTs</h2>



<p>In other words, if I buy an NFT that represents Timothée Chalamet’s intellectual property, then I’m investing in the future perceived value of the person and his work. And because we live firmly in the era of #metoo and cancel culture, an investment in the highly public image of flawed human beings who can commit a gaffe at any place or time does feel a bit dubious.&nbsp;</p>



<p>So far, celebrity NFT offerings have reflected this risky proposition. John Cena, a wrestler-turned-actor, collaborated with World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. to sell bundles of goods included with NFTs for a $1000 each. Hardly any sold. The same has been the case with Quentin Tarantino’s uncut scenes from Pulp Fiction.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Little will grow from the thin digital soil that most celeb NFTs sprout from. Look for richer, more layered ground rather than a stand-alone, blurry iPhone photo of Gwyneth Paltrow’s dog. As with more traditional products, consumers can parse thoughtful design and engaged creators from opportunists seeking a hasty cash-grab.</p>

<p><strong>Authenticity matters to would-be celebrity NFT buyers</strong>. Value matters as well. The rare successful celebrity NFT offering has more depth behind it. Paris Hilton joined the NFT community before she made her metaverse offering in a collaboration with artist Blake Kathryn. The credibility gained from exploring the space transferred neatly to her offering. At the same time, her NFTs coincide with her pre-NFT brand: luxury lifestyle, youth, and layers and layers of pink. Consistency pairs well with authenticity. This dynamic is true for Snoop Dogg as well.</p>

<h2>Abiding strengths</h2>



<p>The underlying benefits that NFTs offer still hold true, with each one held immutable on the blockchain, NFTs are secure and provably authentic with their entire history publicly viewable. NFTs are still true to their name — unique and not-to-be-duplicated — thus providing a means to validate identity.&nbsp;</p>



<p>What’s more, NFTs are on-trend and whilst celebrity and influencer NFT offerings have often fared poorly, those same individuals do tremendous work to publicize and legitimize the NFT ecosystem to a wider public.</p>



<p>Is there a template they can follow to gain greater traction in the NFT world? Or will they follow the template of Bowie Bonds, which lost value due broader record industry issues?&nbsp;</p>



<p><strong>It seems unlikely that the latter will come true given the great versatility of NFT usage, their popularity and the ingenuity of the artists who create them.&nbsp;</strong></p>

<p>Some of the features are rarer than others, so avatars that possess them will be more sought after, for BAYC and Meebits, the characteristics were defined randomly during the mint.</p>



<p>Before BAYC and Meebits, it was mostly <a href="https://nonfungible.com/market-tracker/cryptopunks" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">CryptoPunks</a> that served as Profile Pictures signifying OG status in the NFT space. Displaying these made it possible to publicly show your inherent belonging to the NFT community. But with the arrival of newcomers to the ecosystem since the 2020 lockdowns, the desire to &#8220;be part of an NFT community&#8221; has broadened.</p>

<p>Collectible card NFTs have only one purpose: to be collected, they can represent players of well-known sports, key moments in life or historical events.</p>



<p>On the Wax blockchain for example, it is possible to find IPs known as Hot Wheels or MLB. On Ethereum, the <a href="https://curionft.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Oncurio</a> project offers Collectibles from Mars Attack, Heavy Metal or Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.</p>



<p>Badges are also collectible NFTs but have a different purpose other than just cards. They are usually used to reward users after completing a number of tasks.</p>

The Matrix NFT Avatars are coming to Nifty’s!


<p>Before 2018 and the ERC-721 standard for Non-Fungible Tokens, some projects appeared to push the boundaries of what was possible to achieve on Ethereum, best known is obviously <a href="https://nonfungible.com/market-tracker/cryptopunks" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">CryptoPunks</a>, but before that, there were also others.</p>



<p>In 2017, PonderWare decided to create a whole project around a virtual and <strong>pixelated cat rescue</strong>. We are not talking about CryptoKitties but about the <a href="https://nonfungible.com/market-tracker/mooncatrescue" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">MoonCats project</a>! To save these poor cats lost in space, it was necessary to randomly generate them from the smart contract.</p>

You do not want to miss this momentum, in addition there are offers of $250 that accumulate for your asset but this price is too low for you!</em><br><em>You give up the hope of realizing a x5 and lower your price a little.</em> </p>



<p><em>As soon as you put $500 as the sale price, your asset is bought within a minute! And in less time than it takes to congratulate yourself, this new buyer has put it back on sale at $1250 and worse few minutes later, it sells..</em> </p>



<p><em>You look at the floor price of &#8220;common&#8221; NFTs which has reached $750 and you say to yourself &#8220;I should have kept my rare NFT&#8221;.&nbsp;</em></p>



<p>The question that follows is: are you going to take the risk of buying a $750 NFT in <strong>the hope</strong> of selling it for more afterwards? Here you are in a situation of <strong>Fear Of Missing Out</strong> (FOMO) that can quite honestly ruin you..</p>



<p>The scenario above is quite possible if:</p>



<ul><li>A group coordinates to buy their own NFT among themselves but &#8220;boycott&#8221; those who are not part of the group&#8217;s portfolios.</li><li>The initial distribution is mainly acquired by this group.</li></ul>



<p>In this way they can obtain all the rare assets for <strong>very cheap</strong> and sell the common one at <strong>gold prices</strong> to the naïve who are influenced by the volumes of the markets that <strong>seem good</strong>.</p>



<h2><strong>What are the consequences on the NFT market?</strong></h2>

<p>Although the main consequence of this unequal distribution is a risk of <strong>market manipulation</strong>, this has revealed other problems.</p>



<p>The attraction of <strong>quick cash </strong>has attracted practices and behaviors that were previously quite rare in the ecosystem: total <strong>anonymity of the team</strong>, with <strong>Smart Contracts</strong> made public <strong>10 minutes before the Presale</strong> or an army of trolls that invade Discord servers to spam or broadcast FUD&#8230;</p>

<p>This sends out an <strong>extremely negative signal</strong> from the ecosystem to see &#8220;low effort&#8221; projects being sold out in less than an hour while they themselves are still waiting for an order to make a personalized tailor-made portrait.</p>

<p>It is therefore important to understand that by purchasing NFTs whose sole function is to serve as a collector&#8217;s item, will confer a sense of <strong>belonging to a group or community</strong> but there is absolutely no guarantee of getting back the money spent.</p>



<p>Regarding the &#8220;generative&#8221; collectibles of different animals or fantastic species, having a rarer NFT than the others will give a<strong> more important social status</strong> within the community but generally, that&#8217;s where it stops.</p>



<p>If the collector&#8217;s item is <strong>sufficiently decentralized</strong>, it will be kept in your wallet for years and years, thus constituting an imperishable memory and <strong>defining part of your digital identity</strong>.</p>



<p>It is therefore important to distinguish between Collectible projects that are in danger of <strong>disappearing overnight</strong> and those that really want to develop a project in the mid-long term, even if the main ambition is above all <strong>to have fun</strong>.</p>
