Have you heard about Gods Unchained, the Trading Card Game that wants to compete with Hearthstone? What are the value of the most popular cards? Which decks are most used?
You must have heard of the Immutable team? Formerly Fuel Games, it was the team that created Gods Unchained, a Trading Card Game that raised $15M.
The game is still in the Beta stage but the balance period is coming to an end and you can already trade your cards on OpenSea and few other marketplaces.
Gods Unchained broke records and made a huge splash when they “unlocked” support for card trading. Using highly optimized procedures in their smart contracts, they managed to exceed the maximum number of NFTs minted at the end of November – far more than any other NFT project.
So how do players organize themselves to create the ultimate deck? What are the average prices of the cards? Is the price of cards defined by their rarity or their use?
If you are new to the world of Trading Card Games, feel free to look at this short explanatory guide and this new player’s guide to familiarize yourself with the concepts of life, mana, attack, effects and other technical terms related to this universe.
To introduce the game, the cards are divided into 6 tribes, each with its own speciality:
For each tribe, you will find a starter pack directly in your inventory so you can try out which style of play is best for you.
One of the key points for your strategy is to try the different powers of your gods. Each tribe has its own god and you will have a choice of 4 powers from the beginning of the game. Choose this spell carefully according to your deck but also according to your opponent!
Once you have chosen it, you will no longer be able to modify it during the game!
Then there will be the choice of one or more cards that you want to send back to your deck so that you can have the advantage from the beginning of the game.
Like any good trading card game, the whole strategy is about how your deck is made up. From the beginning you can play with the 6 “starter deck” that will already be constituted.
They are balanced enough to start playing and allowing you to adapt to the gameplay and try different strategies.
The goal is to level up in order to get the booster offering you cards from the “Core” set that are not currently stored on the blockchain. As the game is still in the beta stage these cards can disappear or be reset at any time.
Also know that the day the game will be live everyone will start from scratch with these cards! It is not possible to buy or sell these cards at the moment, but those of the “Genesis” set have already started to be traded on different markets. The cards in the Genesis set were distributed during the pre-sale of the game and will therefore no longer be created later…
To complete the new player guide, we wanted to share with you some tips and tricks to familiarize you with the game environment:
If we look a little closer at the figures since the new contract, we can see that the two players who won the auction for Prometheus and Atlas, cards from the “Mythic” set, is about $30 000. These cards were randomly distributed during the pre-sale of the Genesis deck and were therefore sold by players and not by the Immutable team.
We might fear that like Hearthstone, you only have to pay a lot of money for very rare cards to be sure to win a game. Except that for the moment, this is not quite the case for two reasons:
Given their usefulness, it looks like the priceless cards look like a meme for Whales! Moreover, it seems that they are more suitable for collectors than for ordinary players.
We can therefore believe that there has been a price boom for mythical cards due to the number of copies available on the market.
Since cards are exchanged on average for $5, consolidating the different decks is very affordable and allows some flexibility if you have to face opponents using cards that cost more.
So keep a cool head when you go shopping, the most expensive cards are not necessarily the most effective for your deck!
To help you move forward effectively in the game and avoid shameless sellers who would try to sell you any card at an exorbitant price, we have developed a toolkit to help you know the REAL price of cards on the market.
Be careful, this is not financial advice, but only a factual inventory, based on the sales of maps drawn on the Gods Unchained marketplace.
