Catch real world estate with Etherland mobile

In the world of NFTs, there are very few projects that have the ambition to become fully decentralized Metaverses. Among those attempting to link the real world and virtual worlds, mainly thanks to NFTs, Etherland is particularly active in the development of its project and has recently published its mobile application on Android!

We talked about this project a few weeks ago, Etherland is a Fantasy Real Estate on the Ethereum Blockchain, that allows anyone to explore the Earth and virtually acquire portions of land which correspond to real world estates on the planet. For the moment this is only the most famous places in the world like Angkor Wat, The Eiffel Tower and Big Ben…but that will change soon.

Thanks to the possibilities offered by augmented reality, Etherland wants to offer a taste of what a real new virtual world will look like, accessible simply by leaving your home.

To celebrate this occasion, a game is being organized to earn ELANDs and possibly LAND IDs!

A life-size treasure hunt

Nothing is better than a full-scale test to get the hang of a freshly published project. As a reminder, ELANDs are Etherland’s Fungible Tokens while LAND IDs are Non Fungible Tokens that represent a piece of land.

These Lands are everything that surrounds you on a daily basis when you leave your home, go for a walk or do your shopping. And to make these familiar places a little more alive, from April 15th until May 15th, Etherland will organize a giveaway all over the world and the only way to get the prizes will be to install the app and exit to hunt for treasures!

When the event begins, there will be 10 LAND IDs, $1M ELAND, and 10 vouchers to create your NFT for free. To get them the first step is very simple: open your Etherland app and activate AR mode.

If you manage to find a box with rewards, here’s what you could win:

• Every AR catched gives a reward of 100, 200, 500 or 1000 ELAND
• Some AR do not give ELANDs but instead hold a precious NFT

In this way your phone will be able to act as a filter in order to see this new reality and you will be able to claim the gifts that may be near your house.

The Mobile-app: The Project’s Centerpiece

The mobile app is the backbone of Etherland. The latter provides access to all the project’s features in one place and is a major key element in making the project accessible to as many people as possible.

Scheduled to also be available on IOS, this application will be much more than a simple augmented reality application. In fact, it will have three different functions:

• The ability to find and mine NFTs
• The ability to manage them
• To serve as an interface with your wallet

The first functionality is only possible by activating AR mode on the app, this serves to point your camera directly to the desired location to be able to reserve it and therefore mint your NFT. To do this, you will need a few ELANDs but to find out simply if a location is available without having to move, you just have to take a look at the Estatepedia.

All the visible data when you go to view a LAND ID will be hosted in IPFS, a complimentary peer to peer file hosting service, which guarantees better immutability of the information linked to the NFT. It will be possible to locate these NFTs directly thanks to the linked wallet in your account.

The advantage of linking your wallet in this way is that it allows interoperability between the web and mobile platform. For example, the acquisition of a LAND ID on Opensea will be visible directly in the mobile application.

This of course works the other way around, if you mine an NFT and save data from within the application these changes will be visible on the web marketplace as soon as the NFT is created!

Open The World of NFTs in A Fun Way

Thanks to the many possibilities offered by a mobile application, the virtual world of Etherland has just taken a significant new step: This life-size giveaway will allow users to try out the application while earning rewards, opening up access to the world of NFTs in a fun way!

Of course, everyone is free to choose the best way to spend their ELANDs, whether creating a new LAND ID or saving them for later. The launch of this first version of the app is just the start of many features to come.

Etherland’s objective is to create a real decentralized Land Registry with the precision of the information contained in each LAND ID as close as possible to reality.
